Martin Perez makes his Red Sox debut against a soft hitting Orioles line up.
A wacky day in terms of starting pitchers but there are several match ups that I like especially from a value standpoint.
Here’s my line up for today.
P: Lance McCullors, Astros vs. Mariners ($8,500): After almost two years off, McCullors is back and he has a great match up against a limited Mariners line up.
P: Martin Perez, Red Sox vs. Baltimore ($5,500): I normally wouldn’t play Perez but he is a good value play against an Orioles lineup struggles with off speed pitches and strikes out a lot.
C: Victor Caratini, Cubs vs. Brewers ($3,300): Caratini is a versatile play. He can play first base and catcher. I like him at Wrigley Field against a pitcher like Corbin Burnes
1B: Paul Goldschmidt, Cardinals vs. Pirates ($4,300): Goldy against a pitcher like Trevor Williams who is prone to giving up the long ball is too good a play to pass up on.
2B: Kolton Wong, Cardinals vs. Pirates ($3,800): Staying with the Trevor Williams. He struggled against left handed hitters last season. Wong is poised to have a big afternoon.
3B: Yoan Moncada, White Sox vs. Twins ($4,700): Moncada had a monster game on opening and is poised for a big season. Randy Dobnak starting for the Twins makes Moncada an attractive play.
SS: Jorge Polanco, Twins at White Sox: ($4,400): The Twins flat out rake as a line up and Polanco is one of the center pieces of the offense. He is a good play against soft tossing Dallas Keuchel.
OF: JD Martinez Red Sox vs. Orioles: ($4900): Martinez looked great last night using all parts of the field in a 3-5, 3 RBI night. He is a must start against a pitcher like Alex Cobb is struggles with his command.
OF: Danny Santana, Rangers vs. Rockies ($4,700): The versatile Santana went 1-4 last night but he hits at the top of the Rangers line up and he is an on base machine.
OF: George Springer, Astros vs. Mariners ($5,800)): The Astros line up is so good and a big reason for the Springer who not only sets the table but hits for power.
