Fantasy Basketball: 10 Players You Should Consider Drafting in 2018-19

The fantasy basketball season is over but it is never too early to start looking towards next season.

Several young players emerged this season and put themselves on the map. Here are ten players you should consider drafting next season. They are primed to be fantasy stars.

1. Donovan Mitchell, PG/SG, Utah Jazz: Gordon who? The surprising Jazz were led by the rookie combo guard who took the league by storm with his athleticism and ability to finish around the rim. Mitchell averaged 20.5 points per game. He is a volume scorer who has the potential to be one of the best scoring guards in the league.

2. Kyle Kuzma, PF, Los Angeles Lakers: Lonzo Ball got all the hype coming into the season but it was Kuzma who was the Lakers best rookie. Kuzma is athletic. He can take to the basket consistently but he can also shoot the three and he has a quality mid range jumper. Kuzma has the skill set to average a double, double next season.

3. Dejounte Murray, PG, San Antonio Spurs: Murray is the point guard of present and the future for the Spurs. He flashed potential this season but still conceded minutes to Tony Parker. This could be Parker’s last go around. If it is, the athletic Murray has the potential to be a top ten point guard next season because he will play a lot more minutes.

4. Domantas Sabonis, PF/C, Indiana Pacers: Sabonis blossomed after being traded from the Thunder to the Pacers last summer in the Paul George deal. He came off the bench for Indiana this season but still averaged 11.6 points per game, 7.7 assists per game and 2.0 assists per game. Sabonis should get more minutes next season and possibly start depending on what happens this summer. If he does, he has 20/10 potential.

5. Kris Dunn, PG, Chicago Bulls: If you miss out on one of the elite point guards in your draft next season, Dunn might not be a bad fall back option. He is a scorer and while he has a tendency to turn the ball over, he has the potential to be productive across all categories in 2018. Staying healthy will be the key for Dunn.

6. Taurean Prince, SF, Atlanta Hawks: Prince averaged 14.1 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. He really turned it on down the stretch and became the Hawks first option offensively. Prince can win off the dribble but he also has an effective mid-range jumper. There is no doubt with more touches next season, Prince could be an 18 (ppg) and 8 (rpg) player.

7. Josh Jackson, SG/SF, Phoenix Suns: Jackson came on the final month of the season and started playing like a top five pick. Much of Jackson’s game is predicated on getting to the rim but he showed that he can consistently shoot the ball. If he does, Jackson has the potential to go in the first three rounds of drafts next season.

8. Buddy Hield, SG, Sacramento Kings: Hield really developed in his second season in the league becoming one of the best sixth men in the NBA this season. Hield averaged 13.8 points per game and really came on in the second half of the season. The plan is for Hield to continue to come off the bench next season. If he plays more minutes, Hield could be a mid round steal next season.

9. John Collins, PF/C, Atlanta Hawks: The young big man averaged 15 points per game in standard leagues. He is a solid cross category producer who offers terrific late round value next season. If nothing else, his consistent production makes him a utility play.

10. Montrezl Harrell, SF, Los Angeles Clippers: Injuries and the trade of Blake Griffin opened the door for Harrell to get more minutes and he made the most of the increased playing time. Harrell finished the season strong with eight straight games of scoring double digit fantasy points. With the Clippers rebuilding, Harrell could see an expanded role next season, making him a worthy late round selection.
